Retired

Freya is a Siberian Husky and earned the title of Demo Dog after completing the Master Trainer Course at National K-9 with Blayke. Freya also passed the AKC Canine Good Citizen Test. Freya loves her job as a Demo Dog and is always ready to show off what she knows. She wants to break the husky stereotype by showing everyone her off-leash skills!

Riley is a Dachshund and had his first training experience with another graduate of National K-9. This graduate inspired Blayke to follow her dreams and attend National K-9. Riley is 9 years old so helps out with demos or distracting other dogs once in awhile but prefers to stay home and take a nap. He is a crowd favorite whenever he is around!

Kat Crawford

Dog Trainer

After growing up in South Florida, Kat moved to Columbus in 2012 to attend The Ohio State University where she majored in English. During her time at OSU Kat got two dogs, Olive, a miniature dachshund, and Denver, a rescue pit bull, who were both trained by Blayke at Professional Pups in 2017. It was after reaping the rewards of owning two professionally trained dogs that she could take absolutely anywhere that Kat realized that having trained dogs could be life altering for both dogs and their owners.

After years of managing a non-profit healthcare clinic in downtown Columbus, Kat decided to make a career change and began working at Professional Pups as a Kennel Assistant in 2021. In July of 2021 Kat graduated from the Master Trainer Course at the National K-9 School for Dog Trainers and earned the title of Certified Professional Trainer (CPT). Kat currently has three dogs, Olive, Denver, and her newest addition, Clove, a Great Pyrenees Shepherd Mix, who is also her Demo Dog! In her free time Kat loves to spend time outdoors hiking, canoeing, backpacking, and camping with her dogs and fiancé! Kat is Pet CPR Certified and a member of the IACP (International Association of Canine Professionals).

As a CPT, Kat has received the following endorsements: Basic Obedience, Advanced Obedience, Breed Identification, Puppy Development, Utility, Retrieval, Scent Detection, Tracking, Personal Protection, and Assistance Dog Training.
