Riley

Retired

Freya is a Siberian Husky and earned the title of Demo Dog after completing the Master Trainer Course at National K-9 with Blayke. Freya also passed the AKC Canine Good Citizen Test. Freya loves her job as a Demo Dog and is always ready to show off what she knows. She wants to break the husky stereotype by showing everyone her off-leash skills!

Riley is a Dachshund and had his first training experience with another graduate of National K-9. This graduate inspired Blayke to follow her dreams and attend National K-9. Riley is 9 years old so helps out with demos or distracting other dogs once in awhile but prefers to stay home and take a nap. He is a crowd favorite whenever he is around!

Mia Perdue

Dog Trainer

Mia's dog career began at the age of 12 years old when she started walking dogs in her neighborhood for some extra money. From there, Mia held other pet related jobs such as working at Petco and dog sitting for friends and family. Mia took her dog career a step further into dog training in 2019 when she graduated from the Master Trainer Course at National K-9. After graduation, Mia studied under her mentor, Tori Roser with Pawlished Dog Training, in Northern Kentucky. In October of 2019, Mia moved to Columbus to work as a Kennel Assistant for Professional Pups Dog Training.  Mia took a short break from Professional Pups in 2020 when she was offered an apprentice seeing eye dog training position at Pilot Dogs.

In 2021, Professional Pups expanded and was able to offer Mia a full time dog trainer position working along side her mentor and friend, Blayke Austin. Mia happily accepted. In her spare time Mia enjoys traveling and finding local places to explore with her husband and 2 dogs, Alfonz and Annabelle. Mia is Pet CPR Certified and a member of the IACP (International Association of Canine Professionals) and the NK9DTA (National K-9 Dog Trainers Association).

As a CPT, Mia has received the following endorsements: Basic Obedience, Advanced Obedience, Breed Identification, Puppy Development, Utility, Retrieval, Scent Detection, Tracking, Personal Protection, and Assistance Dog Training.

Kat Crawford

Dog Trainer

After growing up in South Florida, Kat moved to Columbus in 2012 to attend The Ohio State University where she majored in English. During her time at OSU Kat got two dogs, Olive, a miniature dachshund, and Denver, a rescue pit bull, who were both trained by Blayke at Professional Pups in 2017. It was after reaping the rewards of owning two professionally trained dogs that she could take absolutely anywhere that Kat realized that having trained dogs could be life altering for both dogs and their owners.

After years of managing a non-profit healthcare clinic in downtown Columbus, Kat decided to make a career change and began working at Professional Pups as a Kennel Assistant in 2021. In July of 2021 Kat graduated from the Master Trainer Course at the National K-9 School for Dog Trainers and earned the title of Certified Professional Trainer (CPT). Kat currently has three dogs, Olive, Denver, and her newest addition, Clove, a Great Pyrenees Shepherd Mix, who is also her Demo Dog! In her free time Kat loves to spend time outdoors hiking, canoeing, backpacking, and camping with her dogs and fiancé! Kat is Pet CPR Certified and a member of the IACP (International Association of Canine Professionals).

As a CPT, Kat has received the following endorsements: Basic Obedience, Advanced Obedience, Breed Identification, Puppy Development, Utility, Retrieval, Scent Detection, Tracking, Personal Protection, and Assistance Dog Training.
